Arrive By Plane (from the Portland Airport)
Shuttles
There will be a conference sponsored shuttle service running Tuesday and Wednesday (5/12 and 5/13) to the conference hotel site in Hood River and shuttles leaving to PDX on Saturday and Sunday. There is only one departure time for the Sunday shuttle to PDX at 10:00am.
To get to the shuttles after arriving in PDX, follow the signs to the Shuttle/Bus area. The pickup area for taxis, town cars, long-haul shuttles, hotel vans and parking lot shuttle buses is located in the center section of the airport terminal’s lower roadway on the baggage claim and departure level. The shuttle will be waiting there and there will be a sign on it saying “Evergreen Conference Shuttle”.
The courier shuttle will leave PDX:

Taxi
The two biggest taxi companies in Portland are Radiocab and Broadway Cab. Be aware that an average fare to Hood River from the Portland airport can run upwards of $200 and some drivers may not be willing to go that far.
Otherwise, taxis line up on the street outside of baggage claim. I would highly recommend negotiating a price before departing.
Greyhound/Bus
There is a Greyhound stop in Hood River at:
Mount Hood Railroad, 110 Railroad Ave.
Hood River, OR 97031
The Greyhound stop in Portland is located at the Amtrak/Union Station in Old Town, Portland. To get to Union Station from the Portland Airport, we suggest taking the MAX transit train’s Red Line or Trimet bus service (Route, pricing information). Tickets average $2.50 to Union Station from the airport and can be purchased in advance, or directly at the airport through kiosks. If you can, the MAX will be the fastest and easiest option. MAX trains run about every 15 minutes to and from the airport most times of the day.
Portland Greyhound Station
550 NW 6th Ave
Portland, OR 97209
Buses run daily, but for exact schedules and fares we suggest you try 1-800-231-2222. Greyhound tickets to Hood River from Portland may be purchased online through Greyhound as well. Departure times from Portland are limited, so it would be wise to call 1-800-231-2222 and also check the online ticket offerings to ensure your arrival time is correct.
The Gorge’s local transportation system, CAT, also runs multiple routes through the county, as well as periodic trips into Portland. If you would like to request a ride from CAT and for more information please contact them directly at (541) 386-4202
