Local Attractions
WPL is a (literal*) stone’s throw away from the AC Hotel. You may even get a glimpse of it from your hotel room. Take a walk over to the newly renovated space and meet the staff who are eager and excited to welcome you to their home!
*Please do not attempt to validate this claim; it’s not nice to throw stones.
Worcester Common
Less than a block away from the AC Hotel lies a park known as the Worcester Common.
Town commons are, well, extremely common in New England. “Town commons lie at the heart of most Massachusetts communities. Situated where roads historically converged, meetinghouses sat, and commerce flourished, commons today are windows to the past.” (x)
Take a pic with the infamous “Turtle Boy” statue (our unofficial local mascot) or lunch outside at the Common Oval. Depending on the time of year, the common is home to various festivals and events.
Home to the Boston Red Sox’s AAA affiliate, the Worcester Red Sox, (colloquially referred to as the WooSox), Polar Park is named for the Polar Beverages company, which opened in Worcester in 1882 and continues to be headquartered in the city.
In addition to being the home of the WooSox, the ballpark also offers tours and hosts other events and festivals throughout the year. Polar Park is located just a half mile from the hotel.

Food and Drink
A New England staple since 2014. Experience “modern American cuisine in a trendy casual atmosphere.” The 110 Grill is so close, it can be accessed through the hotel’s lobby.
A bit further of a walk (0.6 miles) but worth the extra steps, George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs has been serving locals for over 100 years. For a full central Massachusetts experience, grab a hot dog, bag of Wachusett-brand chips, Polar cola, and don’t forget to finish it off with a local-favorite Table Talk pie. Don’t sleep on this Worcester landmark.
Shrewsbury Street (Restaurant Row)
A half mile from the hotel lies Shrewsbury Street, which is Worcester’s own restaurant row. Shrewsbury Street is home to many popular and well-rated venues for food and drink. For example, Wormtown Brewery, Volturno Pizza Napoletana, One Eleven Chop House, and many others.
