The largest happening lately in PINES-Evergreen land is a little place called e^deltacom. We issued an RFP for server hosting (aka “colocation”) services a while back, and e^deltacom was recently awarded the contract. Our intent in obtaining the services of such a place is to ensure that the PINES system has the best possible chance of staying operational, stable, and physically secure at all times. To say the hosting facility is impressive is an understatement. The following is some information I pulled off their website and some materials we were provided in the RFP process:
Evergreen Alpha Release
After approximately a year of software development, we are proud to announce the arrival of the Evergreen Alpha release! Programmers and other techies will probably want to go straight to the download area and grab a tarball. We’re very pleased with how this release turned out, and are looking forward to the comments and suggestions from the field.

Welcome to the summer! I realize it’s a busy time for you folks in the public libraries (with Summer Reading and all), and I appreciate the time you take to keep up with the Evergreen project.
As usual, work on Evergreen is proceeding on schedule, and we expect a solid Alpha release in July. The Alpha release will contain many new critical features, as well as improvement and refinement of features that have been released previously. Here are some highlights:
