A lot of you have asked about a web page for the upcoming Evergreen conference. This is in work. A group of participants have been meeting regularly to plan the conference, and logistics are well under way, but of course… it’s all about *YOU.* So it seemed timely to give you a sneak peek of what the conference will look like… its wireframe, as it were!
The 2009 Evergreen conference will take place May 20-22 at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia, roughly one hour from Atlanta airport by car or shuttle, and conveniently timed to follow the PINES annual meeting.
Conference attendees will find themselves in an attractive wifi-enabled facility within walking distance of both their accommodations and the downtown district of Athens, a charmingly attractive university town with many excellent dining options and some great pubs.
The Evergreen conference will launch with a day-long hackfest followed by a vendor reception, and then on the second day proceed with three tracks: tech, admin, and “the front line.”
The conference will also feature user-generated birds-of-a-feather sessions, lightning talks, and talk tables at meals. Break times will be generous enough to give you opportunities to network.
The schedule is roughly as follows:
Wednesday, May 20: Day-long hackfest, afternoon/evening registration, evening vendor reception 5-7, followed by dine-arounds in downtown Athens (easily walkable)
Thursday, May 21: Breakfast on your own, opening general session, two programs with a networking break in between, nice long lunch, one standard program, break, lightning talks, Birds of a Feather sessions, followed by networking dinners and pub crawls
Friday, May 22: Breakfast Birds of a Feather, one last track, closing session, adjourn, then bid adieu to friends old and new!
Expect more soon… and hope to see you there!
