This report comes to you as the software development group is in a transition period; we’ve just completed a major portion of the development project, and we’re just starting in earnest on the next. Consequently, there isn’t much news to report at this time, and I apologize for the brevity of this report.
We completed the cataloging demo release a couple of weeks ago, and we are still gathering feedback and comments. As I did with the OPAC demo release, I am going to compile all of the comments into a mini-report, and send them along with any responses the development team may have. Expect that sometime early next week.
We’re also in the planning stages for the next phase of software development, which includes a demo staff client with additional cataloging functionality (and cleanup of existing code) and preliminary circulation functionality. This release is due out in mid-May, right before the PINES Annual Membership Meeting.
Speaking of the PINES Annual Membership Meeting, if anyone has anything specific they would like the software development team to talk about in our presentations, please let us know.
