Membership

Introduction

The Evergreen Project is a 501(c)3 Membership Organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Missouri.

Membership enrollment will begin November 1, 2025 for the 2026 membership year. Memberships are annual and based on the calendar year.

Funds raised from membership fees shall be used to support Evergreen Projects activities as defined in its mission, vision, strategic plan, and bylaws.

Individual Membership

Intended for individuals unaffiliated with member organization or for additional membership seats for organizations that are already members at a higher membership level.

Individual memberships may be transferred to another individual with 60 days notice. This applies to both purchased individual membership and individual membership included as part of an institutional membership. Contributor memberships are non-transferable.

  • Ability to participate in live quarterly in-depth webinars. Webinar recordings will be made available to the rest of the community at a later time.

Description

Qualifications
The purpose of the Evergreen Project Contributor Membership is to provide an avenue to membership through participation for individuals in lieu of an annual membership fee.

An individual shall be eligible for membership as a contributor by satisfying one of the described qualifications in the calendar year prior to the year for which they are applying for contributor membership.

An individual who meets the eligibility criteria and wishes to participate in the contributor program shall be considered an individual member as described in the Individual Membership section with the same rights and privileges as well as an e-badge for their own use and special acknowledgement.

Contributor memberships are non-transferable.

To apply to the contributor program, an online application must be submitted.

Eligibility will be evaluated on an annual basis following the general membership schedule.
  • Core Committer – participate as active core committer to Evergreen, Evergreen documentation, and/or OpenSRF
  • Code Contributor – contribute code or documentation to Evergreen, Evergreen documentation, and/or OpenSRF
  • Bug Contributor – bug contribution through commenting, testing, and tagging in Evergreen’s bug tracker
  • Feature or Point (maintenance) Release Manager
  • Release Team Member – part of the release team for a feature or point release
  • Community Leader – leads an Evergreen Community interest group or working group
  • Evergreen Project Board Member – has been elected or appointed to the Evergreen Project Board
  • Committee Chair – leads an official TEP board-sanctioned committee or subcommittee
  • Committee Member – attends a TEP board-sanctioned committee or working group.

  • Choice to submit one sponsor blog post per year or to present a 15-minute segment at the Evergreen Conference.

Service Provider Add-on

This membership add-on is for providers of Evergreen hosting, development, and other direct Evergreen services. This add-on is not available as a standalone item and must be added to an individual or institutional membership. This add-on may be added to an individual membership attained through the Contributor Program.

Service providers with this add-on and a visible link on their company website to https://evergreen-ils.org will be listed on the Support Providers page of the Evergreen website.

Partner Members

For third-party vendors who provide services that work with Evergreen but do not provide direct Evergreen services.

Partner vendors will receive the following benefits:

  • Listing on the Evergreen website and in the annual reports as partners with the Evergreen Project
  • If exhibiting at the Evergreen Conference, a partner badge will be listed alongside vendor’s name on any web pages or printed materials highlighting exhibitors.
  • The opportunity to present one 15-minute showcase segment at the Evergreen Conference

Membership details are defined in Article II of the Evergreen Bylaws version 2025.07

Individual membership and annual dues per membership shall be determined by the Board of Directors and are non-refundable. A membership year shall be based on a calendar year. (Evergreen Bylaws 2025.7, section 2.3)

In order to vote in The Evergreen Project elections or run for seats on the Evergreen Project Board, members must be in good standing by February 14th of a given calendar year. A member in good standing is one whose current dues are paid or who meets the qualifications for the Contributor Program as set by the Board and whose membership is not suspended. (Evergreen Bylaws 2025.07, section 2.4)
